An overview of an experimental atherosclerosis sclerosis animal model

Atherosclerosis is a common cardiovascular disease and is a serious hazard to human health. An experimental animal model of atherosclerosis plays an important role in the study of the occurrence of atherosclerosis, the mechanisms of its pathological changes and the drug efficacy. In this paper we carried out a comparative analysis of different animal models of atherosclerosis established in quail, guinea pigs, mice, rats, rabbits and miniature pigs created by different methods for the improvement of animal models of atherosclerosis.
