    Protective effect and molecular mechanism of omega-3 fatty acids on cardiovascular system

    • 摘要: ω-3多不饱和脂肪酸(ω-3 PUFAs)是人体所需的必须脂肪酸,大量证据表明其对心血管具有保护作用,然而机制尚不明确。二十碳五烯酸(EPA)和二十二碳六烯酸(DHA)是鱼油来源的ω-3 PUFAs,可有效防治心血管疾病,相关研究报道较多。本文主要对ω-3 PUFAs的基本特征和对心血管系统的保护作用及其机制研究做一综述。

       

      Abstract: Omega-3 fatty acids (omega-3 PUFAs) are essential fatty acids in human tissues. Substantial research suggests that Omega-3 exerts a protective effect on cardiovascular system. However, the molecular mechanism is still unclear. Eicosapentenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexenoic acid (DHA) are two kinds of omega-3 PUFAs from fish oils, which have been cited for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. This paper reviews the basic characteristics of omega-3 PUFAs and their molecular mechanisms of mediating or modulating protective effects on the cardiovascular system.
