Abstract: AIM To investigate the association between atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) and Gensini score. METHODS 301 patients with coronary heart disease who were diagnosed by coronary angiography were selected. According to results of coronary angiography, Gensini score was used to evaluate degree of coronary artery lesion. RESULTS The difference of AIP value in each subgroup according to coronary Gensini score was statistically significant (P<0.05), and AIP value gradually increased with the increase of Gensini score. Logstic regression analysis showed that plasma LDL-C and AIP values were independent risk factors of coronary artery stenosis, and HDL-C was an independent protective factor. Linear analysis revealed that AIP was positively correlated with Gensini score (r=0.303, P<0.01). CONCLUSION AIP is closely related to coronary Gensini score.The higher the level of AIP, the more serious coronary stenosis was found.
