Abstract: Neurological disorders and social psychology problems that occur in congenital heart disease (CHD) patients as they grow older have received much attention in recent years. The causes of neurological disorders in CHD patients include genetics, chronic hypoxia, drug and surgical intervention, comorbidities of neurovascular events, and lack of normal growth and development stimulation. The incidence of autism is closely related to genetic and environmental factors. Autism in CHD patients has been the focal point of domestic and international research. The social psychological problems of CHD patients are closely related to the development of the nervous system and a large number of studies have focused on the genetic factors related to CHD and autism. Researchers suggest that assessment and attention of neurodevelopmental outcomes should be improved in the early stage of CHD and early intervention should be given. This article reviews the relationship between congenital heart disease and autism.
